Love that Gracie made it in the piece! The exhibit sounds amazing.

really appreciate this round up bc i realized each time we participate in a fair i become art blind. though the diango hernández and sabrina bockler works managed somehow managed to break through and captivate.

The art blindness is real! Fairs always feel casino-like to me, where it’s impossible to tell what time of day it is until you finally stumble outside and realize it’s a sunny afternoon, not 3 AM. The Diango Hernández was the first piece I saw that helped me shake that feeling - something about the pool that’s too shallow to actually swim in got under my skin in the best way!

srsly. reading the josh klein piece made me realize fairs are just trade shows with lipstick. and now i can't unsee it. & totally re: the hernández — the work on either side of it complimented it perfectly.

HA trade shows with lipstick is spot on. I spent much of my early career on the trade show circuit, at least art fairs have more interesting fashion and better booze!
